Scottie Scheffler (+450)
Scottie Scheffler is listed as the +450 favorite in the current odds to win this year’s Open Championship. Scheffler has been the top-ranked golfer in the world for nearly two years. He has entered every major this year as the favorite and won The Masters earlier this year.
Scheffler has struggled in his other two major appearances this year. He tied for eighth at the PGA Championship and then tied for 41st at the US Open. Scheffler’s finish at the US Open was his worst finish in a major since missing the cut at the 2022 PGA Championship.

However, DeChambeau had struggled at majors outside of the US Open prior to this year. He has seven top-10 finishes in majors since 2015, but three of those came this year.
The Open Championship has been especially trying for DeChambeau, who finished tied for 60th last year. He has only finished in the top 10 once, tying for eighth in 2022. That was the only time DeChambeau has finished in the top 30 in this tournament.
Ludvig Aberg (+1800)
Rounding out the top five in this year’s British Open Championship odds is Ludvig Aberg. The 24-year-old Swedish golfer is currently ranked fourth in the world. He made his major debut at the Masters earlier this year.
Aberg finished second in his first Masters but missed the cut at the PGA Championship. He bounced back at the US Open, finishing tied for 12th. If he can build on that performance, Aberg could secure the first major win of his career.

He has finished in the top 6 in all three majors in 2024, with two of those finishes being in the top two. I believe he will continue his success and claim his second major of the year and the third of his career.
